At The Medspa at Northwestern Specialists in Plastic Surgery, we offer Forever Young BBL to our patients in Chicago, Illinois.
What is Forever Young BBL?
Forever Young BBL is the only device that has been shown to change the expression of genes associated with aging, longevity, and increased lifespan. With regular Forever Young BBL treatments, your skin will look clearer, smoother, and much younger. Forever Young BBL is a phototherapy treatment using noninvasive pulses of BroadBand Light (BBL) therapy to target the signs of aging and sun damage. This treatment makes skin clearer, smoother, healthier, and younger appearing. Forever Young BBL will help your skin look better over time.
What is Broad Band Light?
Broad Band Light therapy (BBL), also known as Intense Pulsed Light therapy or photo facial, uses short pulses of high-intensity light to produce younger-looking skin and sun damage. With little downtime, BBL offers a safe, FDA-cleared option for sun damage, anti-aging, and skin rejuvenation.
Benefits of Broad Band Light
BBL targets signs of aging, sun damage, and other skin conditions. This process will restore your skin to its natural beauty, making it clearer, smoother, and more vibrant.
The most knowledgeable experience ever. They weren’t trying to sell me “add ons” they answered all my questions and when I asked them for recommendations then they suggested other treatments. I didn’t feel rushed or like I was a waste of an appointment. My aestheticians name was Britley and was so sweet. She kept up with my conversation and again provided me with information without being pushy! Definitely will go back again!
What can Broad Band Light Therapy Treat?
For skin rejuvenation, Forever Young BBL is effective for treating:
- Pigmented lesions (age spots, freckles)
- Vascular lesions (small blood vessels)
- Skin firmness
- Uneven skin texture and more
Forever Young BBL can also be used to reduce unwanted hair and control active acne.
Areas Treated with Forever Young BBL
The most common areas treated with Forever Young BBL include:
- Back of the hands
What To Expect During BBL Treatment
The BBL treatment is non-invasive, typically gentle and safe. Generally, there is no need for a topical anesthetic. You may feel a ‘rubber band snap’ sensation in the targeted areas. Your eyes will be protected with safety shields. Treatment can be performed anywhere between 15 minutes to an hour depending on the desired areas.

Broadband Light Therapy also known as the #scitonbbl treatment can treat several different skin conditions including blemishes, rosacea, age spots and more! . . . The light energy delivered by BBL will gently heat the upper layers of your skin. The heat absorbed by the targeted areas will stimulate your skin cells to regenerate. This process will restore your skin to its natural beauty, making it clearer, smoother, vibrant and younger looking. Call today for your free consultation! 312-266-6240 . . . . . . ⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️
Is There Downtown After BBL Laser Treatment?
In general, most people are able to return to work, and resume most of activities immediately following a BBL procedure.
Immediately following treatment, you can expect a slight sunburn sensation in the treated area and some redness. Depending on the aggressiveness of the treatment, it is possible to have swelling for about 1-2 days. Pigmentation will appear slightly darker, or have a coffee ground appearance, for 7-10 days before flaking off.
How Many BBL Treatments Are Needed?
Every patient varies with the number of treatments needed. This depends on your skin condition and level of improvement desired. Our Med Spa staff can discuss the best plan for you to achieve your desired result. We do recommend four treatments per year, or one treatment every 3 months.
Forever Young BBL vs BBL Photofacial
A BBL Photofacial is a corrective treatment for brown pigmentation and redness. Forever Young BBL can be done after a BBL Photofacial to maintain results and as an anti-aging preventative treatment.
